A Little Bit Country and a Little Bit Rock and Roll.

Finally, the moment you have all been waiting for...
STAGECOACH Country Music Festival!
Just one weekend after the rock and roll indie fest, Coachella, we spent another weekend down in the desert; this time with some down home, country lovin' folk.

We saw some new country, some old and some REEEALLY old country music, and luckily, no camping required!

Dierks Bentley put on a great show. He danced awkwardly with the sign language interpreter, and made young girls in the crowd do embarrassing things. Also, I couldn't stop staring at him.









2 Foot Fred. If only I could describe this particularly bizarre experience. It simply is not possible.






George Jones. One of my all time favorites, although every year his face looks a little more stretched and his voice sounds a little more geriatric. He is a country classic.








The Judds. This was back then, and the very reason I came to Stagecoach.











This is now (somewhere between 16 and 20 years later). Some things should remain nostalgic. Why do people plasticize their faces until they look like velociraptors? Perhaps that is one thing I will never understand. We are not sure if Naomi ever sang, but Wynonna had the same beautiful voice I remember from that last show in 1992. Ashley is still my favorite Judd.




This time around we spent more time in the shade, eating BBQ and funnel cakes, making faces at each other, and spent some time watching the shows from backstage (where the free water was). We are quite obviously Very Important People.

Shane wanted to make the weirdest face possible to scare away the lion.
Instead, he scared away the stranger taking our picture.
